My name is Ryan Strauch, and I have 25 years of experience in the technology industry. Throughout my career, I have held diverse roles in IT operations, architecture, strategy, advisory, sales and leadership. I have had the privilege of working with some of the largest companies in the world, including global giants such as Microsoft, Google, JP Morgan, and BHP, as well as large ASX200 enterprises. I hold various industry certifications and earned an MBA from the University of Western Australia. Additionally, I am a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

During my tenure, I have driven innovative and transformative business solutions, witnessing firsthand the successes and challenges organisations face in harnessing the promise of technology. I’ve observed common mistakes and misconceptions, even among seasoned IT professionals, occur repeatedly. I have advised numerous business executives who seek to cut through the hype and simplify technology, enabling them to make well-informed decisions.

The reality is that technology is inherently complex, and selecting the right solutions or technology strategy for your organisation is even more challenging. To complicate matters further, the industry is saturated with overhyped “solutions”, poorly conceived ideas marketed effectively, good ideas executed poorly, and a constantly evolving lexicon of buzzwords that often lack substance.

This results in extremely costly mistakes, job losses, damaged reputations, and even organisational collapse. Misaligned technology investments that provide no value, poorly scoped projects that fail to reach their potential, and so-called “cost savings” that significantly undermine reliability and security are just a few of the issues that arise.

I created this site to connect with those who truly believe in the transformative power of technology, to learn from the common mistakes I’ve observed, corrected, and experienced myself. My goal is to build a community where business and technology professionals can support and elevate each other to achieve great outcomes.
